Hey buddy o’pals ... things just keep getting better with Cool Sums. Ah... so nice to be the bearer of good news. Not content with just the (bloomin’ awesome) line up, things have been heating up at CSF headquarters and we have organised a whole range of other things to get you going over the weekend.
We’ve already told you about the food vendors, market stalls, horse riding, mountain bike riding, chair lift rides and helicopter rides.
We also told you that we have camping for the first time ever this year and yes, you can sing kumbaya in the special stone circle if you must.
You know that we have lodges, apartments, two stages, snow gums, a cool website and no mascot.
What we haven’t told you, is that we will have a ‘Strawberry Jam’ stage this year, set up in the market area, in which you can listen to the tuneful musings of local buskers jammin’ while cramming in a quick yabby burger. We will also be offering a yoga session at 9am on the main stage on Sunday morning, for those of you too tough for a hangover and a massage tent to ease your muscles, for those of you a bit tight from too much booty shakin’ the night before.
Not only that... it’s Mini Vanessa’s first time at Cool Summer Festival! If you were at Cool Summer in 2010, no doubt you would’ve seen Vanessa (the big orange bus) doing her thing, handing out sweet merch, coffee, water, and free breath tests.
This year it’s Mini Vanessa’s turn on the mountain. Visit Mini V (as she’s affectionately known) for a festival survival kit and make sure you get your free breath test on Sunday before you head home.
We will have workshops for big kids and little kids... fancy learning to play the digeridoo? Wish you had ‘da beat’? Yearn to juggle? Struggle at tax time? Look, we probably can’t help with that, but the workshops will be fun!
Those with a hawk eye may have noticed that our dear friend DJ Eddy will be scandalising and delighting in fine style again this year and we’ve added an elusive power trio from Southwest Vic - Red Eagle. In good news, they do not have pineapple on their pizza.
Once again, we are offering businesses, bands, and individuals the chance to become a Friend Of The Festival – all you need to do is purchase a block of 10 tickets. You can hand them out to your staff (or your mother-in-law, your plumber or your besties... we don't mind!) and you're in! For your efforts we’ll give you two free tickets, so pay for 10, get 12, but better than that, we will put your logo and website on the program for the weekend, but even better than that, we'll put it on our super cool website for a year as well. As a FOTF you will get exposure for the next 12 months and not only that, you and 11 others can come up and have a fabulous weekend listening to live music and sipping on a local tipple... it’s a no brainer!!
To take us up on this offer, email
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
or get them from The General Mt Hotham and we'll get you started, put “FOTF” as a reference and send us your logo. Get in quick before the places sell out.
We are capping the tickets this year folks, so make sure you don’t miss out. Click here to purchase your ticket and secure a spot at the best little festival going around. This is going to be one fine weekend.
And don’t forget to like us on facey, then you can check all the artists out for yourself. Tell ya what, become our 1000th friend and we’ll give you a free ticket! And if you have already bought one this year, consider yourself a shoe-in for 2013!
See you all in three weeks!! |

We hope you all had a very happy and safe Christmas and a wild New Years Eve! Now for the next wild event of 2012... Cool Summer Festival!
We have our lineup all done and dusted, ordered some amazing weather for the weekend and getting the last few bits and pieces sorted.
Tickets are on sale NOW and if you are a business or large group of people interested in being a Friend of the Festival then click here and find out all the great deals we will give you. Go on... get involved!
This year is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever with lots of music and loads of fun. We even have some kid’s activities arranged to keep them entertained while you listen to the music and sip on a glass or two of vino.
As promised, this year we have camping available at Whiskey Flat, which is a lush flat area set aside for you and your tent. We are all very excited about it as this is something that you cannot do at any other time of the year at Mt Hotham and it is an amazing feeling waking up in a tent, swag or van nestled within the snow gums in the beautiful Alpine National Park. (Well we presume it would be amazing... no one actually knows as it has never been allowed before) If you want to camp at this year’s festival, all you need to do is purchase a 'Camping Ticket'... it's just too easy! For an extra 10 bucks it’s just a piece of canvas separating you from the great alpine night sky. Dreamy.
Did we mention that it is still BYO during the day at the main stage? I know what you’re thinking... Cool Summer is the best festival EVER... well shucks, thanks, you are too kind, surely not, that’s a big call, we totally agree.
We just ask that you bring no glass except for those wine bottles... coz people who drink wine are very sophisticated...
As well as a stellar lineup we have horse rides, mountain bike tours, chair lift rides, helicopter rides and some pretty rad stalls. Grab 57 of your besties and you’ll have the weekend of your life.
Anyway friends, we will keep you posted on what's going on, but get involved and come on up for the weekend of 17 –19th February 2012.
Cheers,
The Cool Summer Crew |
